Zdaję sobie sprawę, że temat jest dość niszowy - w końcu kto chciałby grać biedną armią, która przez większość doby wojen napoleońskich dostawała w d... - ale czasem najdzie mnie ochota napisania czegoś innego niż tekst naukowy, więc się uzewnętrznię. Internet jest cierpliwszy niż papier ;-)

Jak widzicie zmianie uległa grafika na pudełku. Mi kojarzy się trochę z komiksem o TinTinie. Nie jest to zarzut, choć przyznam szczerze, że wolałem stare - było takie bardziej bitewne. Obie grafiki przedstawiają śląską Landwehrę.
As you can see, the graphics on the box is changed. It reminds me a little the TinTin comic book. This is not a complaint, although I must admit that I preferred the old - it was more battle-like. Both graphics depict the Silesian Landwehr.

W środku mamy wkładkę z krótkim opisem formacji oraz sztandarami. WG troszkę poskąpiło pieniędzy i, w przeciwieństwie do starej, nowa wkładka wydrukowana jest na matowym papierze. Wolę matowe sztandary, ale niestety ucierpiało nasycenie barw - stara wersja jest dużo lepsza.
Inside we have an inset with a short description of the formation and the banners. WG has skimped a bit and, unlike the old one, the new inset is printed on a mat paper. I prefer mat banners, but unfortunately the saturation of colours suffered - the old version is much better.

Na szczęście to co najważniejsze przedstawia się dużo lepiej. Nowe ludki mają ładną, wyraźną rzeźbę bez dużych nadlewek. W zestawie są cztery ramki, a na każdej z nich sześciu żołnierzy - każdy w innej pozie. Dodatkowo do wyboru są dwa zestawy główek. Możemy użyć czapek lub też zastąpić je czakami, np. w śląskich jednostkach. Na ramce umieszczono jeszcze jedną główkę obwiązaną bandażem. Daje nam to możliwość przełamania monotonii w szeregach naszej armii.

Dla porównania załączam zdjęcie starej ramki. Na niej mieliśmy tylko trzy pozy i możliwość dodania niektórym żołnierzom tasaków.

Na podstawce dowódczej możemy umieścić całkiem fajnego, nowego dowódcę, w dość statycznej, klimatycznej pozie oraz dobosza. Niestety zabrakło chorążego, choć z historycznego punktu widzenia nie jest to błędem. Na pewno nie zastosuję jednak pomysłu ze strony WG, żeby jednego z żołnierzy przerobić na chorążego dając mu sztandar zamiast karabinu - lepiej już nie mieć sztandaru niż pokusić się o taką "konwersję" ;-)
On the command base, we can put a pretty cool new commander in a quite static, climatic pose and a drummer. Unfortunately, there is no standard bearer, although from a historical point of view this is not a mistake. Certainly, I will not apply the idea from WG, to make one of the soldiers convert to a standard bearer by giving him a standard instead of a rifle - it is better not to have a standard than to go for such a "conversion" ;-)

Podsumowując, mamy do czynienia z bardzo udaną, nową wersją pruskiej Landwehry. Jeśli dodatkowo dysponujecie starymi ludkami to można naprawdę ładnie wymieszać oba zestawy w celu uzyskania zróżnicowanych batalionów.
Mam nadzieję, że w ciągu miesiąca uda mi się pomalować ten zestaw i przedstawić go w pełnej krasie.
Conluding, we have a very good-looking new version of the Prussian Landwehr. If you additionally have few old minis, you can nicely mix both sets, and get different battalions.
I hope I will be able to paint this set in a month and present it in all its glory.

Pojawiła się prośba, aby porównać stare i nowe ludki, więc proszę bardzo, oto zdjęcia starego i nowego żołnierza. Jak widzicie skala ładnie zachowana. Widać różnicę w podejściu do rzeźbienia, choć oba ludki świetnie się nadają do tworzenia dużych formacji.
There was a request to compare old and new minis, so here you are, photos of an old and a new soldier. As you can see, the scale is well preserved. You can see the difference in the approach to sculpting, although both minis are great for creating large formations.
